Cellar Cooling for Pubs and Restaurants
Cask and keg beer needs to be held at a stable 11–13°C. Too warm and the beer is cloudy, fobbing and wasted at the tap; too cold and it will not condition properly. A correctly sized cellar cooler holds that band through service, through summer and through busy weekends when cellar doors are opening constantly.
Design and Sizing
We survey the cellar volume, insulation quality, door and hatch losses, delivery patterns and heat from the python and pumps, then size the cooler to the actual load. Undersized units run continuously and never recover after a delivery; oversized units short-cycle and cause temperature swings. We specify remote condenser or packaged systems depending on the space and noise constraints of the site.
Installation and Commissioning
Installation covers cooler mounting, refrigeration pipework, condensate drainage, electrical connection and controls. Systems are commissioned with pull-down and hold tests, and you receive F-gas records, commissioning data and operating instructions for your cellar staff.
Maintenance and Breakdown Cover
Planned maintenance covers coil and condenser cleaning, refrigerant leak checks, control and thermostat calibration and drain clearance. Breakdown cover is available with priority response — a failed cellar cooler on a Friday costs far more in wasted stock than the contract does in a year.

Frequently Asked Questions
What temperature should a beer cellar be?
Between 11°C and 13°C for cask and keg products, held steadily. Consistency matters as much as the number itself.
How long does a cellar cooler installation take?
Most single-cellar installations are completed in one to two days, including pipework, electrical connection and commissioning.
Do you maintain existing cellar coolers?
Yes. We service and repair existing systems as well as installing new ones, including planned maintenance contracts with priority breakdown response.
